Battlefield Distillery

Battlefield Distillery is the Northern Cape's pioneering craft distillery, located on the historic Rooilaagte (Graspan/Enslin) battlefield where a significant Anglo-Boer War battle took place in November 1899. Just 5km from the actual battlefield site on the route from Oranjerivierstasie to Kimberley, this small-batch distillery produces premium spirits using traditional methods. Their flagship CornGold™ Whisky is a Tennessee-style single grain whisky distilled over open flames, filtered through local "Suidwesdoring" charcoal, and aged for 3+ years in French oak barrels from the red wine industry. The distillery also produces Veldslag® Premium Whisky (matured in port barrels), rum, moonshine, cane spirit, liquorice liqueur, and cream liqueur. All products are made without additives, flavors, or colorants, using local underground water. Tours and tastings are available by appointment.
