Established in June 2007, Mokala National Park is South Africa's newest national park, covering approximately 27,500 hectares of stunning Northern Cape wilderness. The park is home to endangered species including black and white rhino, roan antelope, sable antelope, and the tsessebe (Africa's fastest antelope). With 44 mammal species and over 150 bird species, Mokala offers exceptional wildlife viewing in a malaria-free environment. Activities include self-drive and guided game drives, sunset/night drives for nocturnal species, guided bush walks, fly fishing on the Riet River, mountain biking, and stargazing under pristine dark skies. The park also features San rock art excursions and Anglo-Boer War battlefield tours. Accommodation ranges from the Mosu Lodge with waterhole views to the unique Kameeldoring tree house experience.
