Orania Vliegveld (Airfield)

Orania Vliegveld is a small regional airfield serving the town, located on Granaatsteenstraat. The airfield features two runways: the primary Runway 11/29 which is recently scraped and rolled in very good condition, and the secondary Runway 02/20 which is also usable. Both are unpaved grass strips suitable for light aircraft. The airfield is fenced and secure, allowing aircraft to be parked and tied down beside the runway. Avgas is usually available (contact Abraham V Zyl: 082 524 9013). The radio frequency is 124.80 MHz, and no landing clearance is required. Strategically positioned on the Orange River in the Northern Cape Karoo, the airfield is popular with pilots as a fuel/rest stop on flights between Gauteng and Cape Town. Transport to accommodation in town can be arranged, making it convenient for fly-in visitors wanting to explore Orania.
