Sandgat Camping Resort

Sandgat is a private camping resort located on the banks of the Orange River, just 7km downstream from the Vanderkloof Dam wall. This clean, family-friendly campsite offers direct river access for swimming, fishing, and canoeing. The resort features 50 campsites on grass and sand, 220V electrical points, mains water, hot/cold ablution facilities, braai areas at each site, and an outdoor swimming pool. Self-catering caravans are also available for hire. The nearby Vanderkloof Dam - South Africa's second-largest dam with the country's highest dam wall (108m) - offers additional water sports including waterskiing, boardsailing, sailing, and swimming. The dam stretches 100km when full. Pets are welcome with prior arrangement. The peaceful setting makes it perfect for a family getaway or as a stopover when exploring the region.
